FRBasket Chair by Gian Franco Legler for Bonacina
Détails du produit
The “Basket” chairs, designed in the 1950s by Gian Franco Legler for the Italian company Bonacina, are iconic examples of postwar European furniture design, uniting craftsmanship with modern functionality. This pair of chairs features a tubular steel frame with rubber feet and a handwoven rattan seat and backrest, combining lightness with durability. Their clear, minimalist construction reflects Legler’s modernist sensibility, while the natural rattan adds warmth and texture. Importantly, the chairs are also stackable, underscoring their practical versatility.
The frames have been newly repainted, while the rattan shows age-appropriate signs of wear, adding authentic vintage character. Together, they represent both the artisanal tradition of Italian furniture and the progressive spirit of 1950s design.
