Very rare ‘PK54’ Dining Table by Poul Kjaerholm for E. Kold Christensen, DK 1963

An iconic dining table designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1963, exemplifying his pursuit of structural clarity and material honesty. The PK54 is defined by its balanced proportions and refined contrast between the solid granite top and the precise, matt chromium-plated steel frame. This example is a very rare early edition featuring a granite top—an uncommon variation that is highly sought after by collectors. The circular surface reveals a subtle, natural texture with nuanced tonal variations, giving the piece a distinct and individual character. It rests on a minimal geometric base, where clean lines and open construction create a sense of lightness despite the substantial materials. Manufactured by E. Kold Christensen, Denmark, and bearing the maker’s mark twice on the frame. A timeless and sculptural piece that functions equally well as a dining or statement table. Measurements: H 66 x Ø 140 cm
